Need
to go louder? SUPER SCALER takes the output
power from a low-watt tone amp and boosts it high
enough to drive a speaker cabinet to much louder SPLs
than the tone amp could do on its own. All with tonal
transparency.
SUPER
SCALER truly requires power-input to deliver power-output.
This means the amp works within the "power domain".
This kind of operation means the sound you get out
is exactly what you put in - just bigger.
But
suppose you want to go "smaller"? The original SUPER
SCALERS built in 1985 could go both louder or
quieter than the tone amp driving it. We have brought
this technology back with new features.
A
variable boost ratio allows the SUPER SCALER
to be over-driven if desired, or to stay muscular
and clean and simply go louder. In full "clean" mode
and, say, 25W input, the sound will be twice as loud
to your ear than the 25W amp could produce on its
own. "Twice as loud" takes ten times the power - 250W!
- to achieve! If you dial the boost ratio down, a
clean 25W input will over-drive the SUPER SCALER's
output.
