Back in 1995, TUT The Ultimate Tone set the standard for what a tube effects loop should look like with our Best All-tube Effects loop – really, this set the standard for what all modern FX loops should like and how they should perform. Our BFX kit is the embodiment of that now iconic circuit, offering series and mixing modes and accommodating line-level and pedal-level devices. It has low-noise and transparent sound.
Many players like to be able to turn the FX loop on and off, either simply via a front panel switch, or to be synchronised with preamp channel selection, or remotely for performance. This has to work properly in both series-mode and mix-mode and for many hobbyists – and even amp designers – switching is a bit of a mystery. Fortunately, London Power has switching solutions for every situation. Our Q-MNR does what is needed here, but it is a “bit more tech” than what most people need, so we have BFX-RLY, which as its name suggests, uses a pair of simple mechanical relays to achieve the goal. All you need is a low-voltage DC power supply to power the relay coils. See our PM12 +/-12Vdc auxiliary supply.
